Corn-hole Tournament– May 18

4–H Summer Camp – July 1–5
Jefferson County 4–H Summer Camp sign up is underway. Fifth and sixth grade 4–H’ers are camping at Camp Burton on Tybee Island July 1–5 for $285. Sign up is available with a $75 non-refundable deposit. The Vidalia Onion Fundraiser is currently being held to help campers with camp costs. Summer Day Camp @ The Y! 
The Family Y of Jefferson County is now accepting registrations for Summer Camp 2013. Campers will enjoy arts/crafts, games, songs and character development activities. Camp begins May 28th. Spaces are limited. Only 60 spots are available. Summer Camp is for children ages 5-12. Camp hours are 7:00am–6:00 pm. Fees are $75 per week per child for YMCA members and $95 per week per child for non-YMCA members. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify. Free Computer Service
SHIPS for Youth offers the use of their computers for students doing homework and for adults searching for jobs. The office is open from 9:00 am–4:30 pm. There is no cost for this service. For more information, contact 478.625.3789.

Alcohol & Drug Awareness Class – May 29
The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Class will take place at Jefferson County High School on Wednesday, May 29, from 8:00 am–12:00 pm in the health room. This class will not be offered again until January 2014. To register, sign up with Debbie James in the Counselor’s Office or call 478.625.9991 by Friday, May 24.
Bartow Museum Hours Change
The Bartow Museum will now be open Thursday–Saturday each week from 1:00–4:00 pm.

Arts Guild & Photography Club Meetings – May 20
 Margaret Trevathan will present a program about soap making at The Arts Guild of Jefferson County meeting on May 20 at 6:30 pm at the Magdalene House. The Photography Club will also meet.
Summer Basketball League
The African American Research Library-Museum and Cultural Center is in the process of organizing a summer basketball league for boys and girls ages 14-18. The games will be played at Hoke Williams Memorial Park in Wadley. For more information, contact T. J. Palmer at 678.873.9337.
Bartow Museum Plaque Dedication – May 19
The Bartow Museum will hold a plaque dedication on Sunday, May 9 at 2:00 pm in recognition of Patsy Jordan’s contributions to the city of Bartow. A reception and refreshments will follow the dedication. In the event of rain, the dedication will be moved to the Bartow Community Center. 
Blood Drive – May 21
 Shepeard Community Blood Drive Center will hold a blood drive on May 21 from 9:00–11:00 am at Fulghum Industries.
TJA Graduation – May 24
Thomas Jefferson Academy commencement exercises will be on Friday, May 24, at 8:00 pm in the school gymnasium.

JCHS Graduation – May 25
Jefferson County High School commencement exercises will be on Saturday, May 25, at 10:00 am on the school’s football field.
